Play Pattern programs are sponsored by Maker Prep. Together we service PreK - 12 schools and community based organizations with curriculum on computer science, art and physical computing.

Maker Prep was founded in 2018 with the mission of expanding an equitable model for technology and art education. We train educators, administer after school and summer programs, as well as events to bring STEAM activities that support creativity and skills for the 4th Industrial Revolution.

DIGITAL DRAWING (MANGA/ANIME)

Calling all Manga Fans! Have you ever wanted to sketch and design your own anime? In our Manga/Anime virtual course, we unlock the many possibilities of anime creation, from crafting storyboards and plot brainstorms, to drawing our own characters through an anime style. We foster the next generation of Anime creators, and help you build your portfolio while learning all about the world of Manga. 

AI + MACHINE LEARNING 

From self-driving cars and therapy bots, to face recognition technology, students will learn about the concepts and ethical challenges behind AI Machines. In this virtual program, we will utilize both machine models and block-based programming tools in order to form a deeper understanding of the A.I technology that has captivated international conversations around technology and the future for society.

STORYTELLING LAB 

Visual storytelling help us better understand the world around us with the use of tools photography, data and information. Each session, we offer engaging activities meant to improve the quality of your writing and storytelling. We also critically discuss the the media we consume. What makes a good story? How do stories impact a community? Join us to sharpen your pen, and amplify your voice!
